Who We Are

We are literally family members and friends of the residents of the Peter D. Clark LTC Centre.

Our goal is to advocate to help improve the quality of life of all our residents.  We give families and friends a place to voice their thoughts and concerns and work together with Management to bring forth positive changes in our “Home”.

How You Fit In

If you are new to Peter D. Clark, please let us know if we can help point you in the right direction.  Going into long term care is almost always a difficult time.  We know how hard it can be for everyone involved.  We have all been there.

We invite you to become a member of the F&F Council.  This can be as simple as paying an annual fee of $10.00.  These fees are used for resident activities including our Sunday Socials, Christmas gifts for the residents etc. We are NOT funded by the City or the Province.  We welcome any donations to support our many projects and activities.

We are always available to talk and support you. We welcome your feedback with concerns, opinions and questions. Thank you for your support of the F&F Council.

Our Executive Committee

You can become a voice for the residents in one of the wings of the Houses or Bungalows by becoming a member of the Executive Committee.

This committee meets regularly to discuss issues affecting our residents.  These could be issues related to provincial standards, funding, dementia care, or something going on at the Centre.

We are most effective when we have a representative from each of the units in the Houses and the Bungalows – Pine East, Pine West, Maple East, Maple West, and so on.  If you are interested in being the voice for a unit, please get in touch with us.

We welcome the opportunity to work together to improve the lives of our residents.

Message from the President

As President I welcome all new residents, their families and friends to our “Home” at the Peter D. Clark LTC Centre. I have been involved with the Council since 2002.

I am very proud of all our Council Members past and present. As a group we have accomplished a great deal to enrich the lives of all our residents who have come and gone since May 30, 2001 when we first opened the doors.

Our mandate or objective as a Stakeholder is to provide a liaison between family member of the residents and Management of the “Home”. We encourage cooperation and provide positive support to everyone involved in enhancing the quality of life of all our residents. We encourage family members and others to participate in supporting our activities. We maintain a close liaison with other committees at Peter D. Clark such as End of Life, Home Quality Improvement Team
Spiritual Care, etc.

Our motto is: Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world, indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has. (Margaret Mead)
