Every day, volunteers at Peter D. Clark improve the social, physical, spiritual and intellectual lives of the residents. Collectively, the Houses and Bungalows have more that 350 volunteers, who contribute a total of 30,000 volunteer hours each year. This is equal to approximately 20 full-time staff members! Volunteers help with a range of activities, including: helping with programs and activities, individual visits, portering residents, meal service hosting, and feeding.
The need for volunteers continues to increase and recruitment is conducted on an ongoing basis.
Volunteer recruitment is coordinated by City of Ottawa staff. Volunteer’s preferences and abilities are matched to the Home’s and residents’ needs.
Long Term Care Home residents are vulnerable individuals, and an Ottawa Police Services records check is required.
Volunteers will receive an orientation to the Home.
